Tropical Storm Warning for Inland Bay: Dangerous Winds, Flooding, Tornadoes

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Inland Bay, including Youngstown and Fountain, bringing dangerous winds, potential major flooding, and a tornado threat; residents must take immediate action to secure property and seek shelter.

A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Inland Bay, including Youngstown and Fountain, effective immediately until October 9, 2026, at 7:15 AM UTC. The National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL urges residents to complete all remaining preparations to protect life and property as soon as possible.

Dangerous winds are expected, with potential for 58 to 73 mph gusts. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes is possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Scattered power and communication outages are likely.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life. Rivers and small streams may overflow, making many roads impassable.

The situation is favorable for several tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter immediately. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued. For more information, visit weather.gov/tallahassee or baycountyfl.gov/EmergencyManagement.
