Coastal Bay residents, including Panama City, Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, Lynn Haven, and Bayou George, are under an Extreme Storm Surge Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective immediately, October 10 at 2:07 AM EDT, and expiring at 10:15 AM UTC.

Life-threatening storm surge of 2-4 feet above ground is possible around high tide. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete; evacuees must be in shelters. Remain sheltered in a safe location and do not venture outside.

Tropical storm-force winds of 30-40 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected through the next few hours. Dangerous wind impacts are unfolding. Last-minute efforts to protect life and property should be complete. Shelter from dangerous wind immediately.

A Flood Watch is in effect with potential for major flooding from heavy rain. Heed all flood watches and warnings. The NWS also indicates a favorable situation for several tornadoes with potential significant impacts. Stay within your shelter and move quickly to the safest place if a tornado warning is issued.
