An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Orange County Coastal areas, effective immediately and continuing until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT. Residents are advised to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA reports dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures expected to range from the mid-80s to lower 90s at the beaches and mid-to-upper 90s near higher coastal terrain. Nighttime lows will remain very warm, in the lower to mid-70s.
To mitigate the risk of heat-related illnesses, the NWS advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. Check on relatives and neighbors who may be vulnerable. It is critical to never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles, as interior temperatures can reach lethal levels rapidly.
This warning was issued by NWS San Diego CA on October 6, 2026, at 12:33 PM PDT.
