An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, effective October 6 at 3:38 PM PDT until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT, with dangerous high temperatures expected into the 90s.
Residents in the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills are advised to prepare for dangerously hot conditions as the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Warning. The warning is in effect from October 6 at 3:38 PM PDT until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s, with very warm nights and low temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to mid-70s. The NWS warns that heat-related illnesses will increase significantly during this period.
To stay safe, residents are instructed to drink plenty of fluids, remain in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of direct sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. It is crucial to remember not to leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly.
