Residents in Orange County Inland Areas should prepare for dangerously hot conditions, as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA.

The warning is effective immediately, beginning October 4 at 9:10 PM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT. High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s to 103 degrees Fahrenheit, with warm nights seeing low temperatures in the 70s.

This extreme heat poses a significant risk for heat-related illnesses. The NWS advises all residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and remain out of the sun. It is also crucial to check on relatives and neighbors during this period.

A critical reminder from the NWS: Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in just a few minutes. Take immediate action to ensure the safety of yourself and your community during this extreme heat event.
