Motorists in Spalding and Pike counties are advised to slow down and prepare for possible loss of control due to hydroplaning as a Special Weather Statement has been issued for heavy rain.

The National Weather Service Peachtree City GA issued the statement today, October 10, 2026, at 4:51 AM EDT. Heavy rain was reported over Williamson and near Griffin and is currently nearly stationary. This weather event is expected to cause temporary street flooding, particularly in areas with poor drainage.

The Special Weather Statement is effective immediately and expires at 5:45 AM EDT today. Locations impacted include Griffin, Zebulon, Williamson, Orchard Hill, Sunny Side, East Griffin, Concord, Highland Mills, Towalaga, Hilltop, Experiment, Birdie, Hollonville, Vaughn, Rover, and Zetella.

Residents in these areas should exercise caution while driving during this period.
