Residents should prepare for dangerous winds with potential for 58 to 73 mph, which can cause significant damage to property. Efforts to protect life and property are underway. Roads and bridges may become impassable or washed out.
The situation is also favorable for several tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly. Tornadoes can cause significant damage, power loss, and communications failures.
