Evolution Welding Brings 40-60 Jobs to Chipley

Washington County commissioners unanimously approved a three-year tax incentive package June 2 for Evolution Welding, a manufacturer that will locate in Chipley's industrial park and create 40 to 60 welding and fabrication jobs.
The company will receive a 100% tax rebate in year one, 50% in year two, and 25% in year three. Evolution Welding manufactures roll-off dumpsters and trailers and will purchase property off Mary Helen Drive.
"The tax abatement is a small investment compared to the long-term impact these high-quality manufacturing and welding jobs will have on our community," Commissioner David Corbin said.
Evolution Welding will partner with Florida Panhandle Technical College to offer apprenticeships. Commissioner Ashlynn Marquez said the program will connect local students with jobs in Washington County.
The project marks the second major business expansion in Washington County this year, according to Tony Daniels, the county's economic development director.
