CPSC Warns: Relaxing Baby Swim Floats Drowning Risk
Staff Writer
May 14, 2026
The Consumer Product Safety Commission warned parents and caregivers May 14 to stop using "Relaxing Baby" Swim Floats, which can flip over or submerge children underwater without warning.
The floats pose a drowning hazard to infants and toddlers. The CPSC urges consumers to puncture the plastic, deflate the product, and dispose of it immediately.
East Greenwich residents who use swim floats at backyard pools, Goddard Memorial State Park, or the East Greenwich Yacht Club should check their homes and childcare facilities for the product. More information on recalls is available at the CPSC website.
