SCF Hosts 9/11 Memorial Ceremonies in Bradenton & Venice

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremonies on Friday, September 11, to honor the lives lost in the 2001 terrorist attacks. The public may attend.

The SCF Venice campus ceremony will run from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the southeast parking lot flagpoles, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. At the same time, the SCF Bradenton campus ceremony will take place from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. near the south entrance flagpole on 60th Ave. W., adjacent to the Carol F. Probstfeld Library & Learning Center, Building 3, at 5840 26th St. W.

SCF’s Veteran Services Office and the Student Veterans of America Club present the ceremonies. John “Captain” Phillips, a retired U.S. Coast Guard chief warrant officer 4 with over 31 years of service, will speak at the Bradenton event. A live broadcast of the Bradenton ceremony will be available on the SCF YouTube page.
