Lake Wind Advisory Issued: Boaters on Fort Peck Lake Urged to Exercise Caution

A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Glasgow, MT, affecting Central and Southeast Phillips, Central and Southern Valley, Garfield, McCone, and Petroleum Counties. The advisory is effective from 8 AM Friday morning, September 25th, until 9 AM MDT Saturday morning, September 26th.

South winds are expected to reach 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. These conditions could generate rough waves on Fort Peck Lake, posing a risk of overturning or swamping small crafts.

The NWS advises all boaters on Fort Peck Lake to use extra caution during this period. For personal safety, stay in or around sheltered areas to prevent your craft from tipping.
