Wind Advisory Issued for Western Pima, Tohono O'odham Nation, and South Central Pinal Counties
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Western Pima County, Tohono O'odham Nation, and South Central Pinal County until 11:00 PM MST tonight, with strong winds and gusts up to 55 mph expected, according to the National Weather Service.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Western Pima County, including Ajo and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the Tohono O'odham Nation, including Sells, and South Central Pinal County, including Eloy and Picacho Peak State Park. The National Weather Service in Tucson, AZ issued the advisory this morning, effective until 11:00 PM MST tonight, October 11, 2026.
Residents in these areas should prepare for strong sustained south to southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 45 to 55 mph. The strongest wind gusts are expected to occur near showers and thunderstorms.
Impacts include unsecured objects being blown around. Tree limbs may be blown down, and isolated power outages are possible.
The National Weather Service advises extreme caution, especially for high-profile vehicles, as winds this strong can make driving difficult. Secure loose outdoor items and be aware of potential hazards.
