A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Tucson Metro Area and surrounding regions until 11:00 PM MST this evening, October 11, 2026. Residents should secure outdoor objects and exercise caution, especially those driving high-profile vehicles.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tucson has issued this advisory due to sustained south to southwest winds expected to reach 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. Strongest gusts are anticipated near showers and thunderstorms.
Affected areas include the Upper Santa Cruz River and Altar Valleys (including Nogales), the Tucson Metro Area (including Tucson, Green Valley, Marana, and Vail), Southeast Pinal County (including Kearny, Mammoth, and Oracle), the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains (including Mount Lemmon and Summerhaven), and the Baboquivari Mountains (including Kitt Peak).
These conditions may cause unsecured objects to blow around. There is also a possibility of downed tree limbs and isolated power outages. The NWS advises using extra caution while driving, particularly for high-profile vehicles, due to difficult driving conditions.
