A 14-year-old student was arrested Monday morning at Morgan High School after bringing a knife to campus and threatening another student, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred around 7:57 a.m. on October 5, 2026, when deputies responded to a fight involving several students. Edrik Allen, 14, reportedly struck another student during the altercation. Following the fight, Allen removed a knife from his pocket and pursued one of the students involved, heading toward the school's athletic fields.

The school resource deputy at Morgan High School intervened, stopping Allen and confiscating the weapon. Allen was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Weapon on School Property, and Battery.

Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the importance of school safety. "This could have ended in serious injury, or worse, if not for our school resource deputy's quick action. Weapons have no place on school campuses. Anyone who brings one onto a campus or threatens another student with one will be arrested," Chronister said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
