Residents in Inland Taylor and Coastal Taylor areas are advised to seek shelter indoors due to a strong thunderstorm approaching the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee FL issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 10, 2026, at 9:34 PM EDT, warning of wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Doppler radar at 9:34 PM EDT identified a strong thunderstorm 20 miles northwest of Steinhatchee, moving northeast at 30 mph. These gusty winds could potentially knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects. The statement is effective immediately and is set to expire at 10:15 PM UTC (6:15 PM EDT).

Areas expected to be impacted include Perry, Pinland, Jug Island, Carbur, Adams Beach, Dekle Beach, Jack Lee Island, Keaton Beach, Foley, Blue Springs, Perry-Foley Airport, Bucell Junction, Athena, Cedar Island, Fenholloway, and Bird Island.
