Residents and travelers in the Southern Denali Borough, particularly areas south of Denali Park, are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling due to a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Fairbanks. Snow is expected, beginning Saturday morning, October 10, 2026, and becoming heavier Saturday night, with total accumulations of up to 8 inches by Sunday evening, October 11, 2026.

The advisory is effective immediately, from October 10 at 1:09 PM AKDT until October 11 at 4:00 PM AKDT. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph may lead to areas of blowing snow. An early season snowfall is anticipated through Sunday. Road surfaces, and especially bridges, are likely to become slick and snow-covered.

For the latest road conditions, residents are urged to visit 511.alaska.gov or call 511. Exercise extreme caution if driving in affected areas.
