Wind Advisory: Gusts Up to 55 MPH for Eastern Alaska Range
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Eastern Alaska Range North of Trims Camp until Sunday morning, with gusts up to 55 mph expected, posing risks for unsecured objects and driving conditions.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Eastern Alaska Range North of Trims Camp by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fairbanks. The advisory is effective immediately, from October 10 at 10:07 PM AKDT, and will remain in effect until October 11 at 6:00 AM AKDT.
Residents in the affected area should prepare for south winds between 25 to 35 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 55 mph. These strong winds could blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs may be blown down, potentially leading to isolated power outages.
The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when traveling. Secure any loose outdoor items to prevent them from becoming projectiles.
