SKAGWAY, AK — Residents in the Municipality of Skagway are advised to secure outdoor objects immediately as a Wind Advisory is in effect until 9:00 PM AKDT tonight, October 5.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Juneau has issued this advisory, effective as of 6:55 PM AKDT today. South winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 mph.
The NWS warns that these gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Additionally, there is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages occurring.
All residents in the Municipality of Skagway should take action now to secure any loose items outside their homes or businesses to prevent damage or injury. The advisory is set to expire at 9:00 PM AKDT this evening.
