Wind Advisory for Skagway: Secure Loose Objects Now
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Municipality of Skagway until 7:00 PM AKDT, with gusts up to 45 mph; residents should secure outdoor objects immediately.
SKAGWAY, AK – Residents in the Municipality of Skagway are advised to secure all outdoor objects immediately due to a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Juneau.
The advisory is in effect until 7:00 PM AKDT this evening, October 5th. South winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 45 miles per hour.
These gusty winds may blow around unsecured items, and there is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down. A few power outages could also result from the conditions.
The NWS advises all residents in the Municipality of Skagway to take action and secure any loose outdoor items to prevent damage or injury. The advisory is effective immediately.
