Wind Advisory Issued for Skagway: Secure Loose Objects Now
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Municipality of Skagway until 4:00 PM AKDT today, October 2, with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Secure loose outdoor objects and exercise caution.
Residents of the Municipality of Skagway are advised to secure all loose outdoor objects immediately, as a Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Juneau AK.
The advisory is in effect until 4:00 PM AKDT today, October 2, 2026. South winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected. These conditions can make travel difficult and may lead to downed tree limbs and isolated power outages.
The NWS Juneau AK indicates that gusty winds are expected to subside Friday evening. Use extra caution when traveling during this period.
