A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Santa Rosa Inland, including the communities of Jay and Milton, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL. This warning, issued on October 10 at 1:02 AM CDT, indicates that tropical storm-force winds are expected within the area in the next 36 hours. The warning is effective immediately and expires at 9:15 AM UTC on October 10, 2026.

Residents should prepare for extreme winds with gusts up to 60 mph, though the NWS indicates a potential for winds greater than 110 mph. Now is the time to shelter from life-threatening wind and be ready to move to the safest place inside your shelter if necessary. The area remains subject to catastrophic wind damage.

Major flooding from heavy rain is also a significant threat, with potential for extensive impacts including evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures. Heed any flood watches and warnings.

There is little to no storm surge inundation or tornado threat expected. For evacuation and shelter information, contact Santa Rosa County EMA at 850-983-5360 or visit www.santarosa.fl.gov/emergency. Monitor NWS Mobile at www.weather.gov/mob for further updates.
