A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Coastal Santa Rosa, including Bagdad, Gulf Breeze, and Navarre, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective October 10 at 1:02 AM CDT. Tropical storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours.

Residents should plan for extreme winds equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane or higher, with peak gusts up to 60 mph expected through the next few hours. The NWS advises sheltering from life-threatening wind immediately and being ready to move to the safest place inside your shelter if necessary. Catastrophic wind damage is possible.

Localized storm surge of 1-3 feet above ground is possible in surge-prone areas through this morning. All flood preparations should be complete, and residents should stay away from storm surge-prone areas. Major flooding from heavy rain is also a potential threat, likely prompting evacuations and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings.

Tornadoes are not expected. For evacuation and shelter information, contact Santa Rosa County EMA at 850-983-5360 or visit www.santarosa.fl.gov/emergency. For storm surge graphics and other impacts, visit www.weather.gov/mob.
