Strong southwest winds are expected, ranging from 20 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. Local gusts could reach up to 60 mph in mountain and foothill areas. The strongest winds are anticipated from late morning through late evening hours on Sunday.
The affected areas include the Interstate 5 Corridor, Western San Gabriel Mountains and Highway 14 Corridor, Eastern San Gabriel Mountains, Western Antelope Valley Foothills, Eastern Antelope Valley Foothills, and the Antelope Valley.
Potential impacts include downed tree limbs, which could lead to power outages. There is a higher risk of downed trees in areas that receive moderate rainfall. Unsecured outdoor objects are likely to be blown around. Driving will be particularly challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles.
