San Antonio Rezones Florida Ave Parcel for Commercial Use

The City of San Antonio will rezone a nearly three-quarter-acre parcel at the southeast corner of Florida Avenue and Curley Street from City Unassigned to General Commercial (C-2).

City officials initiated the rezoning after annexing the undeveloped property, which lacked a zoning designation. The petitioner plans to construct a fraternal home meeting hall on the site.

City documents state the ordinance aligns with Florida Statutes on growth policy, planning, and land development. Private businesses will not be directly impacted economically, as the property is currently undeveloped and the ordinance imposes no new charges or fees.

The city will incur no regulatory costs, with petitioners covering administrative expenses like legal notices and mailings.
