Four Salisbury Firefighters Awarded Maryland's Medal of Valor

Four Salisbury firefighters received the Chief Leonard T. King, Sr. Medal of Valor from the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association on Sunday, April 19, during the organization's annual awards ceremony on Kent Island.

Lt. Andrew Merrill, MPO/Sgt. Mike Ozman, FF/PM Corey Dean, and FF/EMT Thomas Moore, Jr. earned the state's highest recognition for valor after saving or attempting to save human life during extreme emergencies within the past year. The medal honors Maryland fire, rescue, and EMS providers who demonstrate extraordinary courage and self-sacrifice while performing beyond normal duty requirements.
