Residents in the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills should prepare for a Wind Advisory and an ongoing Extreme Heat Warning. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued these alerts, urging community members to take immediate precautions.

The Wind Advisory is effective from 6 AM to 6 PM PDT this Saturday, October 3rd. East winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected. Gusty winds can dislodge unsecured objects, break tree limbs, and may lead to scattered power outages. Driving will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, and extra caution is advised.

The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 8 PM PDT Thursday, October 8th, with dangerously hot conditions and temperatures up to 100 degrees expected. Heat-related illnesses are a significant risk during this period.

To stay safe, drink plenty of fluids, remain in air-conditioned spaces, and avoid direct sun exposure. Check on relatives and neighbors. Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as interior temperatures can become lethal within minutes.
