Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Inland Empire: Act Now to Stay Safe
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the Inland Empire until October 8, with dangerously high temperatures expected; residents should drink fluids, stay in air-conditioned areas, and check on neighbors.
An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire. Residents are advised to take immediate precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA issued this warning on October 3 at 9:40 PM PDT, effective until 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday, October 8. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 90s to 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights will also remain warm, with low temperatures in the low to mid-70s.
During this period, the risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly. To stay safe, the NWS advises the public to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is also crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to heat.
Furthermore, never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly, posing a severe risk to life. Adhering to these instructions can help prevent serious health impacts during this extreme heat event.
