An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys – The Inland Empire from October 3 to October 8, with temperatures up to 103 degrees; residents are urged to stay hydrated, seek air conditioning, and avoid leaving children or pets in cars.
Residents of the San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys – The Inland Empire are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego, CA. The warning is in effect from October 3 at 6:05 PM PDT until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 90s to 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights will offer little relief, with low temperatures anticipated to remain in the lower to mid-70s.
The NWS stresses that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. To mitigate risks, residents are instructed to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and remain out of direct sunlight. Checking on relatives and neighbors is also recommended.
Crucially, the NWS warns against leaving young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly, posing a severe threat.
