A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Perry area, including Beaumont, New Augusta, and Richton, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 9:49 PM CDT. The warning is set to expire on October 10 at 6:00 AM UTC.
While a warning is in effect, the NWS forecasts winds below tropical storm force, with peak winds of 10-20 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. The threat of significant wind impacts has decreased, and community officials are currently assessing any actual wind impacts.
Residents should monitor for any instructions from local officials. While the sustained wind is expected to remain below tropical storm force, conditions may still be gusty. Ensure emergency readiness should the forecast change.
