City of Temple Terrace Hiring Utilities Maintenance I to Support Water & Sewer Systems

The City of Temple Terrace is currently seeking a Utilities Maintenance I for its Water division. This semi-skilled position involves heavy manual work crucial for the ongoing installation, maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of the city's water and sewer distribution systems.

This role directly impacts the reliability of Temple Terrace's essential water infrastructure. The individual hired will contribute to the upkeep of critical components including meters, hydrants, lift stations, wells, and treatment plant facilities. Responsibilities for the Utilities Maintenance I include assisting Utility Maintenance II personnel and Utility Services Technician IIs, as well as other Utility Divisions. The employee must be capable of independently performing duties and may work weekends, holidays, after-hours, and on-call shifts to address immediate needs across the city.

Candidates for the position must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of one year of experience in water distribution system maintenance. The city also requires knowledge of occupational hazards, safety practices associated with mechanical equipment, and the tools and materials used in water and sewer system maintenance. A valid Florida driver’s license is mandatory. The starting salary for this role ranges from $19.21 to $21.13 per hour, based on experience.
