Residents in southeastern Chicot County, Arkansas, and southwestern Washington County, Mississippi, must seek immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Jackson, MS. The warning is in effect until 10:45 PM CDT tonight, September 21.

At 9:50 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest of Avon, or 15 miles west of Hollandale, moving southwest at 5 mph. The primary hazards are 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Radar indicates potential for hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm is expected to remain over mainly rural areas within the warned counties.
