Palm Beach County Adjusts Impact Fee Calculations to Issuance Date Effective 2026

Palm Beach County implemented a significant change to its impact fee assessment method on January 1, 2026. Final impact fee assessments are now calculated based on the schedule effective on the issuance date, rather than the application date. This means the fees applied to a project depend on when the permit is issued, not when it was initially applied for.

These changes affected all components of the fees. New impact fee schedules were also published and became effective on January 1, 2026, with additional updates planned for January 1, 2027, and January 1, 2028.
