A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Coastal Gulf area, specifically affecting Port Saint Joe and Cape San Blas. The National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL issued this warning on October 8 at 5:22 PM EDT. Residents in these areas should complete all preparations and move to safe shelter as tropical storm force winds are expected from Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning, with gusts up to 60 mph.

Life-threatening storm surge of 4-7 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts should be completed immediately if orders are given. Extensive impacts include structural damage, flooded roads, and potential for areas to be uninhabitable for an extended period. A Flood Watch is in effect, with 4-8 inches of rain expected, prompting potential evacuations and rescues. The situation is also favorable for several tornadoes, with some potentially intense. Residents in manufactured homes or on boats are urged to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly.
