A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Eastern Pondera, Eastern Teton, Cascade County below 5000ft, Judith Basin County and Judith Gap, and Meagher County Valleys. Residents in these areas should prepare for heavy, wet snow and gusty winds.

The warning is effective from 6 PM MDT this evening, October 10, until 6 AM MDT Monday, October 12. The National Weather Service in Great Falls MT has forecast total snow accumulations of 7 to 14 inches, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

Travel is expected to be very difficult during this period. The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could bring down tree branches, leading to isolated power outages. Snowfall amounts may vary significantly between grassy surfaces and roadways, particularly at lower elevations.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, call 511.
