PETERSBURG BOROUGH – Residents in Petersburg Borough are advised to drive with extreme caution due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Juneau, AK. The advisory is effective immediately, from October 1 at 11:06 PM AKDT, and will remain in effect until Friday, October 2, at 10:00 AM AKDT.

Visibility is expected to be reduced to a quarter-mile or less due to dense fog. These conditions could make travel hazardous throughout the affected area.

The NWS strongly recommends that drivers slow down, use their headlights, and maintain increased following distances. These precautions are crucial to ensure safety during periods of low visibility.
