A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Northern Harrison, including Lyman and Saucier, effective immediately. The National Weather Service in New Orleans, LA, issued the warning at 4:00 PM CDT today, October 9, 2026, and it remains in effect until 12:00 AM CDT on October 10, 2026.

Residents in affected areas should act now to complete preparations for hazardous winds. Peak wind forecasts are 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, but sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph are possible. Prepare for limited wind damage, including unsecured objects blowing around, broken large tree limbs, and potential power outages. Secure outdoor items, and be aware of hazardous driving conditions, especially on bridges.

While no additional significant rainfall is forecast, localized flooding is possible. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Be prepared for rapid ponding of water in low-lying areas and potential brief road closures. Tornadoes are not expected, but monitor forecasts for any changes. For more information, visit msema.org.
