5 hours agoNorth Charleston City Council: How to Request to Speak at Public Meetings
The City Council welcomes citizen comments during its meetings. Anyone wishing to address the Council must complete a Request to Speak form and submit it to the City Clerk prior to the meeting. Please review the procedures outlined below before submitting your request.
Request to Speak Procedures:
Complete the Request to Speak form. Forms are available in the City Clerk’s Office and online.
Submit the completed form to the City Clerk before the meeting begins. Typically, forms must be submitted by 5:00 PM on the day of the meeting.
When called upon by the Mayor, approach the podium and state your name and address for the record.
Comments are generally limited to three minutes per speaker.
Be respectful and courteous in your remarks. Personal attacks or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
The Council may not respond to comments during the meeting but may refer the matter to staff for further review.
