Palm Beach County residents should monitor a developing low-pressure system in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Forecasters assess a 10% chance of organization into a tropical depression or storm within 48 hours, increasing to 50% within seven days.
The system formed near Mexico's Gulf Coast. Environmental conditions are marginally favorable, and the system may strengthen slowly while drifting eastward before a potential northward turn. Weather experts are focused on the northern Gulf Coast, including Florida's Panhandle and surrounding states.
Should the system strengthen and require a name, it will be designated Isaias, pronounced ees-ah-EE-ahs. The National Hurricane Center will provide updates as the situation evolves.
