Green Cay Nature Center: October Programs in West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach residents can explore outdoor activities this October at the Green Cay Nature Center, 12800 Hagen Ranch Road. The center provides free daily animal encounters and guided tours, along with ticketed events focusing on bird migration, archery, nocturnal wildlife, and local reptiles and amphibians.

The center will host ongoing free programs throughout October. Animal feedings occur Thursdays at 2:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Animal encounters are scheduled for Fridays at 2:15 p.m. Guided half-mile boardwalk tours run Wednesdays through Saturdays; call 561-966-7000 for specific times. Ethnobotany tours are offered Saturdays at 11 a.m. No reservations are needed for these free activities.

Special programs requiring reservations and a fee include:

• Bird Talk & Tour: Bird Migration: Saturday, Oct. 3, 9:30 a.m., $5.
• Archery 101: Saturday, Oct. 24, 9:30 a.m., $10.
• Night Stalkers: Wednesday, Oct. 28, 6:45 p.m., $5.
• Reptiles & Amphibians: Mega Monsters: Saturday, Oct. 31, 9:30 a.m., $5.
