Residents in the Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, and Othello areas should take immediate steps to protect sensitive outdoor plants from freezing temperatures expected tonight, Monday, October 11, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane has issued a Freeze Warning effective from this evening, October 11, through Tuesday morning, October 12, 2026.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 degrees Fahrenheit are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing may also sustain damage.

The NWS advises taking action now to cover tender plants or bring them indoors if possible. The warning is in effect until 8:00 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 12, 2026.
