Residents in the Moses Lake area, including Ephrata, Quincy, and Othello, should take immediate steps to protect sensitive outdoor plants and plumbing as a Freeze Watch has been issued. The National Weather Service in Spokane, WA, issued the watch today, October 11, at 4:55 PM PDT, effective from Monday evening, October 12, through Tuesday morning, October 13.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29°F are possible during this period. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

The Freeze Watch is in effect until 9:00 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 13. Please take action now to cover or bring indoors tender plants and ensure any vulnerable outdoor pipes are insulated or drained to prevent damage. This advisory is issued to help residents prepare for and mitigate the impacts of the anticipated cold weather.
