Out-of-School Suspension Programs Programming Options for Students Serving Out-of-School Suspension Students assigned to Out-of-School Suspension have the opportunity to participate in programming designed to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. The Student Services Department provides a variety of options for students serving an Out-of-School Suspension. Students cannot be denied the opportunity to complete assignments for credit during their suspension. • Apex Learning Virtual Program through the student’s school of enrollment. (All Grade Levels) • Saturday Alternative Program at the Port St. Lucie High School – Referral from Student’s School (All Grade Levels) • In-House Suspension at Student’s School of Enrollment (Alternative Program) • Community Service Hours – (High School Students Only) • Check and Connect with an assigned mentor with the goal of developing a trusting relationship that provides ongoing support to keep students engaged with school. St. Lucie County School Immunization Requirements Updated

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE All students attending Florida schools are required to be vaccinated and provide documentation of those vaccinations on the Florida Certificate of Immunization (DH Form 680), to the school for entry, attendance, or transfer. A valid exemption from immunization must be documented on the appropriate Florida Department of Health form. The Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County provides immunizations. Required Vaccines: • Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis vaccine (DTaP, DT, Tdap, Td) – 4-5 doses • Inactivated Poliovirus vaccine (IPV) – 3-4 doses • Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccine (MMR) – 2 doses • Varicella vaccine (chickenpox) – 2 doses • Hepatitis B vaccine (Hep B) – 3 doses • Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4) – 1 dose, required for 7th-12th grades Where to Obtain Immunizations: • Your child’s healthcare provider • Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County (Services may vary. Master Deputy Joseph S. Hover, a 24-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, was injured during defensive tactics training and died on October 8, 2005, of complications from surgery to treat his injury.

"Get your green on and join the fun at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade in Port St. Lucie Posted on February 28, 2024 The City of Port St. Lucie will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, located at 9201 SE Civic Center Place. The parade will kick off the festival on Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m. traveling west on Port St. Lucie Boulevard from the corner of US 1 to the Civic Center. This year’s Grand Marshal is the 2023 Daughters of Ireland, who will lead the way as local schools, businesses, organizations and more march in the parade, celebrating the Irish heritage and culture. Following the parade, enjoy live music from U2 by UV, The Screaming Orphans, and Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones. On Sunday, the festival continues with performances from Celtic Stew, and The Byrne Brothers. The festival will also feature Irish dancers, a variety of food vendors, arts and crafts, and a kids zone with carnival rides and games. Admission is free, and parking is available at the Civic Center and surrounding areas. “We are excited to bring back the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade to Port St. Lucie again this year,” said Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Director Sherman Brown. “This event is a great opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate Irish culture and heritage. Volunteers are needed to enhance the park’s beauty and usability. Activities include painting, planting, weeding and general cleanup of the park, located at 601 SE Dink Ct. KPSLB will provide gloves, garbage bags, painting supplies and necessary tools. Volunteers should wear appropriate attire, closed toe shoes and sun protection.
