Nancy Moody Donates $10K for K-9 Vests in Levy County
Nancy Moody donated $10,000 to the Levy County Sheriff's Office to purchase ballistic vests for its K-9 units, honoring her late husband Bob Moody, a radio station manager and on-air personality.
The donation funds custom-fitted protective vests for each K-9 officer. Moody also contributed to the Florida Sheriff's Association K-9 vest grant program, which supplies protective equipment to sheriff's offices statewide. The association presented her with a lifetime membership.
Sheriff Bobby McCallum and Mickey Moore, director of membership and donor relations, made the presentation. Retired Levy County Sheriff Horace Moody, Moody's brother-in-law, attended alongside family members.
The vests protect K-9 officers during patrol, searches, and drug interdiction work. Each vest is fitted to the individual dog wearing it.
