Morriston Man Charged With 14 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material Possession

Peter William Jacobs, 36, was arrested June 9 and booked into the Levy County Detention Center on 14 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material. His bond was set at $350,000.

The Levy County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division began investigating in February after receiving a report of sexual contact between an adult male and a juvenile. Detectives Joe Barrera and Cody Weaver identified Jacobs as the suspect.

The juvenile victim provided statements corroborating sexual misconduct. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Jacobs' cell phone and found multiple images of child sexual abuse material.

Jacobs faces charges under Florida Statute 827.071(5). Each count carries a $25,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, and prosecutors expect to file additional charges.
