A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Mobile Central, including Mobile, Prichard, and Theodore, effective immediately from the National Weather Service Mobile AL as of October 9 at 7:27 AM CDT. Residents must act now to ensure safety. The warning is in effect until 3:30 PM UTC today, October 9, 2026.
Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be completed, with evacuees in shelters well away from storm surge flooding. Remain sheltered in a safe location and do not venture outside.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Emergency plans should include the potential for major flooding; evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed any flood watches and warnings, as failure to take action will likely result in serious injury or loss of life.
