Vidor Community Mourns Patricia Barker, Dedicated Caregiver and Family Matriarch

Vidor lost a cherished community member and devoted family matriarch with the passing of Patricia "Pat" Anne Barker, 79, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her residence. A longtime resident of Vidor, Mrs. Barker was originally from Beaumont.

Mrs. Barker dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and within her family. She was a faithful member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church, where she contributed to the spiritual life of the community.

Her professional career included serving as a respiratory therapist at Orange Memorial Hospital. She later continued her compassionate work in home health care, providing essential support to those in need. Mrs. Barker was also a proud homemaker, finding her greatest joy in her family.

Pat Barker is survived by her son, Chris Scott of Vidor, and three grandchildren: Derrick Oliver Scott, Davis Andrew Scott, and Darin Jacob Scott. She was preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Henry Scott Jr., and her brother, Paul Nathan Johnson Jr.

The family has not yet announced details for services, but the community remembers Pat Barker for her dedication to care and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
