Vidor Community Mourns Loss of Longtime Resident Thomas 'Tommy' Anderson IV, Age 50

The Vidor community is mourning the loss of Thomas 'Tommy' Houston Anderson IV, who passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the age of 50. Anderson, a longtime resident of Vidor, was surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Anderson's passing leaves a void in the community. He was known for his 16 years of dedicated service at Union Pacific Railroad. Beyond his professional life, Anderson embraced a variety of passions. He enjoyed mudding, shooting guns, cooking, fabricating, and fishing. He also found enjoyment in watching car shows, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS.

Anderson is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shaelyn Anderson, and their children, Lane Anderson and Shelbie Anderson, all of Vidor. He also leaves behind his grandson, Ryatt Anderson. His family includes siblings Joy Courtier and David Anderson, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Donna Anderson, and his brother, Scott Anderson. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Memorial Funeral Home to assist with the cost of services during this unexpected time.
