Vidor Resident Stephen Howard Remembered for Family & Skills

Stephen Howard, a longtime Vidor resident, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at Vidor Health and Rehab. He was 78.

Born July 7, 1948, Mr. Howard was known for his passion for construction, his ability to fix nearly anything and his deep affection for animals. He also cherished time with his large family, which included 15 siblings.

Mr. Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Connie Howard of Vidor; his children Kimberly Lee and her husband, Steven, of Vidor, Aaron Howard of Vidor, and Scott Howard and his wife, Amy, of Mauriceville; and his grandchildren David Lee, Brendan Lee and Cassidy Howard.

He also is survived by his brothers Wilmer Howard and Thomas Howard of Dayton, Ohio, and Eddie Howard of Navarre Beach, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 13 siblings.
