Sweetwater Mayor Offers Aid to Evicted Mobile Home Residents

SWEETWATER, FL – Mayor Jose “Pepe” Diaz expressed strong concern Tuesday regarding eviction notices served to residents of Lil’ Abner Mobile Homes. The notices, which demand residents vacate within six months, arrived shortly before the holiday season, unsettling families.

In a statement issued Nov. 12, 2024, Diaz pledged his administration’s commitment to aiding the affected community. “My administration and the City Commissioners are diligently exploring every available resource, and we continue to stand by our community to help during these troubling times and transition,” the mayor said.

The City of Sweetwater is actively seeking solutions to support the families impacted by the six-month notice to vacate. The reasons for the required move and the number of households affected were not specified.
