Man Detained After Shots Fired Prompts MIA Departure Lane Closure

Miami International Airport experienced a temporary disruption last Wednesday afternoon when a man was detained following reports of shots fired near the airport's entrance. The incident, which occurred at 4:05 p.m., prompted a swift response from Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies and other law enforcement officials, leading to the shutdown of departure lanes.

According to authorities, the man discharged several shots from his firearm towards the ground or at a garbage can outside the airport terminal.
